Wilier Filante SL - Carbon Monocoque NHU MOD + High Impact Strength
The Wilier Filante SL sits beneath the Filante SLR as the more attainable version of Wilier’s aero road race platform, but it is not a watered-down endurance bike. It uses the same contemporary formula expected in this category: disc brakes, fully integrated cable routing, deep-section aero shaping, and a race-oriented chassis. What separates it from the SLR is primarily the carbon layup rather than the concept. Wilier claims the SL gives up less than 150g at the frame compared with the SLR in the same size, with a painted medium frame listed at roughly 1010–1011g and the fork around 370g, which keeps it competitive for an aero bike that is clearly designed around speed rather than all-out weight reduction.
In practical terms, the Filante SL is aimed at riders who want the look, integration, and handling intent of a modern aero race bike without stepping into the top-tier SLR price bracket or its more uncompromising ride character. Wilier explicitly positions the SL as a slightly less extreme, more comfortable interpretation of the same family design, and that is where it fits in the market: a premium-but-not-flagship aero road bike for fast club riding, racing, and high-speed all-round road use. Across the 2024-present period, this has remained a stable platform rather than a rapidly changing model, with updates centered on build kits, wheel packages, and cockpit configuration rather than a new frameset generation.

| Stack | 538mm |
| Reach | 388mm |
| Top tube | 543mm |
| Headtube length | 135mm |
| Seat tube length | 500mm |
The Filante SL’s geometry is firmly in modern race-bike territory, with relatively low stack numbers and moderate reach figures that point to an aggressive but not unusually stretched fit. In size M, the 538mm stack and 388mm reach are paired with a 72.5-degree head tube angle, 74-degree seat tube angle, 408mm chainstays, and a 990mm wheelbase. That combination suggests a bike intended to feel quick and direct under power, with compact rear-center dimensions helping responsiveness while the front-end figures avoid becoming overly nervous for an aero road bike.
The geometry also scales sensibly across sizes. Smaller sizes use slacker head angles—down to 70.8 degrees on the XS and 72 degrees on the S—to preserve stability with smaller front wheels and shorter front centers, while larger sizes steepen to 73 and 73.5 degrees on XL and XXL for a more uniform handling feel across the range. Seat tube angles also steepen on smaller sizes, from 72.5 degrees on XXL to 75.2 degrees on XS, which helps keep rider position balanced over the bottom bracket. Chainstays remain short at 407-411mm throughout, reinforcing the bike’s race-oriented handling rather than pushing it toward endurance-bike stability.

The Filante SL range is broad, with builds centered on electronic 2x12 drivetrains from Shimano and SRAM and two main cockpit approaches. Shimano options span 105 Di2 and Ultegra Di2, while SRAM builds are offered with Rival AXS E1 and Force AXS E1. Wheel choice also marks a clear split in the lineup: some bikes use Miche S 50 Carbon wheels, while others move to Miche SWR Evo 50 Carbon, with the latter generally appearing on the higher-spec or more integrated packages.
A notable distinction is cockpit configuration. Several builds come with Wilier’s Carbon Z Bar for a cleaner, more premium fully integrated presentation, while others use the alloy Stemma S2, likely serving as the more cost-conscious entry point into the platform. That means buyers can choose between prioritizing price, drivetrain level, and front-end integration without changing frameset. The 105 Di2 and Rival AXS models are the logical value entries into the Filante SL concept, while the Ultegra Di2 and Force AXS builds, especially when paired with the Carbon Z Bar and Miche SWR Evo 50 wheels, push the bike closer to flagship-style specification without moving to the SLR frameset.
