Orbea
Kemen Tour20 Mid 28mph
The Orbea Kemen Tour is a premium electric utility and touring platform designed for paved roads, daily commuting, and long-distance trekking. For this generation, Orbea shifted the Kemen away from its mountain bike origins, equipping it with narrower 50c tires, an 80mm suspension fork, and a robust 20kg rear rack. Built around a hydroformed aluminum frame with polished welds, the bike is available in both traditional top-tube and mid-step configurations to accommodate different mobility needs. Power comes from a Shimano EP6 motor delivering 85Nm of torque, supported by a fully integrated internal battery. The platform emphasizes clean aesthetics and practical daily use, featuring a proprietary modular cockpit, full-coverage fenders, and an integrated lighting system that includes a handlebar-mounted headlight and a rear fender alert light.

Geometry & fit.
4 sizes published.
The Kemen Tour utilizes an active geometry that places the rider in a slightly forward, engaged posture rather than a purely upright cruising position. With a 66.5 to 67.2-degree head tube angle and 450mm chainstays, the frame is stretched enough to maintain stability at higher speeds and when loaded with rear panniers, yet it remains responsive in urban traffic.
A defining element of the fit is the 720mm urban handlebar. This width provides mountain-bike-like leverage for controlling the bike's mass on light gravel or sweeping descents, though it requires extra spatial awareness when filtering through narrow city bike lanes. To help riders dial in their posture, Orbea includes a unique headset chip and spacer system that allows for four different reach configurations and up to two inches of stem extension. Standover clearance is dictated by the frame choice, with the Mid bar option significantly lowering the top tube for easier mounting and dismounting, particularly when the rear rack is fully loaded.

The lineup.
12 builds, ranging $3,299 – $4,999.
The Kemen Tour lineup spans three main build tiers, all sharing the same Shimano EP600 motor and hydroformed aluminum frame. The primary differences lie in battery capacity, drivetrain technology, and suspension quality.
The entry-level Tour 30 utilizes a 540Wh internal battery, a coil-sprung SR Suntour NVX fork, and a 9-speed Shimano Cues drivetrain. Stepping up to the Tour 20 introduces a larger 630Wh battery for extended range, an air-sprung SR Suntour NX1 fork for better adjustability, and a 10-speed Cues drivetrain. The Tour 20 also upgrades the brakes to Magura AT2 hydraulic discs and adds a suspension seatpost.
The flagship Tour 10 maintains the 630Wh battery and Magura brakes but shifts to a low-maintenance Gates CDX carbon belt drive paired with an Enviolo Twist Pro continuously variable transmission. It also features a higher-tier SR Suntour Mobie34 air fork and a dropper seatpost with built-in suspension. Across all builds, riders can choose between Class 1 (20mph) and Class 3 (28mph) motor configurations at no additional cost.
From the press.
12 reviews from the cycling press.
Reviewers characterize the Kemen Tour as a highly capable, fast-rolling commuter that prioritizes efficiency and motor power over absolute plushness. The Shimano EP6 motor is a frequent highlight, with testers noting that its 85Nm output makes climbing "torquey and relaxed" (Opticycles) even on steep city gradients. The motor sustains power quietly under load, masking the bike's weight effectively during acceleration.
Handling is generally described as stable and progressive, aided by the momentum of 29-inch wheels and the low center of gravity provided by the integrated battery. However, the ride quality presents a clear tradeoff. While the frame's rigidity ensures excellent power transfer, some testers found the resulting feedback "too firm and harsh a ride for my liking" (Cyclingelectric), suggesting riders may need to drop tire pressure to smooth out rougher pavement.
The high level of integration also drew mixed reactions. While the clean lines and integrated lighting are widely praised, the internal cable routing through the stem complicates basic maintenance. Additionally, the fixed internal battery requires owners to bring the entire bike to a power source, a detail that limits practicality for some apartment dwellers. Despite these quirks, the consensus points to a refined machine that "strikes a balance between everyday essentials and versatile performance" (Electricbikejournal).
